UTP -MARE Team Success Story

Several MARE team members from UTP had received few awards and appointment at university and national level through out the duration of MARE project.

Teaching and Learning Awards

National Level

First and foremost, Ts. Dr. Teh Hee Min (CEE) has won the Third Place in the category of Immersive Learning (Physical) for his T&L Innovation entitled ‘Immersive Learning of an Engineering Design Course Through a Real-Life Problem-Based Project’ during the National Teaching and Learning T&L) Award, Anugerah Khas YB Menteri Pengajian Tinggi: Rekabentuk Kurikulum Dan Penyampaian Inovatif Tahun 2022 (AKRI 2022). The AKRI is one of the favorites annual T&L competitions after Anugerah Akademik Negara (AAN) which welcomes large number of participants, especially among the public universities.   It is indeed a very competitive event with detailed selections which looks into qualifications, submission documentations and concluded by a 10 mins. pitching among the finalists.

University Level

Dr Teh had also won several teaching and learning awards at university’s level.

In 2021 and 2022,  he had participated in Teaching, Learning and Innovation Festival (TLIF) and won Gold Medal for the 7th and 8th TLIF. The title of his innovation is Immersive Problem-based learning of coastal engineering through an integrated industry-inspired project.

Dr Teh had also won the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award during UTP Quality Day 2022.

Appointment as Managerial Position

Our Project Leader, Prof. Ir. Dr. Shaharin Anwar Sulaiman has been appointed as the Senate Member in UTP.


While Dr Siti Nur Fathiyah had been appointed as the Council Member in Geological Society of Malaysia (GSM).
